Who We Are
Established by the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, the Maxine Clark and Bob Fox Policy Institute is a center for public policy engagement. Our mission is to advance social and economic justice by working collaboratively to connect evidence-based policy solutions to public awareness, practitioner training, and policy decision-making.
From Our Director
“We can and must deconstruct barriers to improve the lives of children, youth and the adults who care for them. The solution is policy. The Clark-Fox Policy Institute will work tirelessly toward the development and implementation of evidence-informed policies that advance social and economic justice and racial equity.”

Two Pandemics, One Election
The 2020 general election occurred as our nation was simultaneously confronting racial inequities revealed by the COVID-19 pandemic and a new movement catalyzed by racial violence. The Two Pandemics, One Election series featured roundtable conversations to illuminate these and related issues that took center stage in the election and voter decision-making. For more, click here.
COVID-19 & Race
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed glaring health and economic disparities among communities of color – and the societal systems that are failing them due to structural racism. The Clark-Fox Policy Institute organized this series, which draws on community leadership and evidence-based knowledge to inform the path toward racial and health equity.
