Our identities shape how we see the world—and how the world sees us. In this engaging and interactive presentation, participants will explore social identity, its impact on our interactions, and the role of empathy in fostering meaningful connections. Attendees will gain insights into identity dynamics, learn strategies to cultivate empathy, and leave with practical steps to deepen their understanding of themselves and others.

Brittany Hogan is an educator, DEI consultant, and national speaker on equity and empathy with over a decade of experience in educational equity and psychological well-being. A proud Chicago native, she holds degrees from Hampton University and Washington University in St. Louis. As Rockwood School District’s first Director of Educational Equity & Diversity, she led transformative initiatives in equity planning and student support.

Brittany co-founded Empathy in Equity with bestselling author Nic Stone and launched BTheGrowth, a consulting firm dedicated to fostering equitable educational practices. She has appeared on national television, including MTV’s Teen Mom, helping families navigate conversations on race and racism. Appointed to the St. Louis Public Schools Board of Education in 2022, she served through 2023 and continues to champion empathy-driven leadership in education and beyond.
