The Clark-Fox Policy Institute is proud to announce that the Graduate Policy Scholars program has welcomed its largest cohort to date with 67 new scholars-in-training. This year’s class brings together a diverse group of talented graduate students from across the university who are dedicated to shaping the future of public policy. With a record number of participants, the program continues to expand its impact, building knowledge and skills to drive meaningful change in the policy landscape.

The new cohort gathered for the first time this October to kick off the annual program and meet their fellow scholars-in-training. Brown School Dean Dorian Traube delivered welcoming remarks, congratulating the students on their new endeavor. “I was delighted to hear that your cohort is our largest ever, representing schools across the Danforth Campus. And with your induction later this Spring, we will have over 320 alumni of the program. This is a testament to the deep commitment of Wash U students to understanding how policy can drive meaningful change and promote equity,” said Dean Traube.

As the program unfolds, scholars will have the opportunity to participate in skill-building workshops, engage with policy leaders, and create policy briefs that address critical challenges in their communities. By the end of the program, the scholars will have a deeper understanding of social change through policy and a toolbox of skills they can use to engage with changemakers and civic leaders.

In closing, Dean Traube encouraged the cohort to embrace the journey ahead by focusing not just on acquiring knowledge, but on building relationships and expanding their networks that can lead to lifelong collaborations and career opportunities. The excitement in the room was palpable as the new scholars looked forward to a year of growth and impact in the field of public policy.
