Caring for children and promoting their well-being is challenging under normal circumstances. Doing it during a global health crisis is a whole other story – one that has magnified the importance of equitable policies that support families. As the call for help increases each day – from food access to health access, child development to economic development – so does the response from our providers, educators, funders, caregivers and policymakers. In order to fully recover from this pandemic, transforming and strengthening the systems that support families will be critical for our nation and region. The way forward is up to what we do now.

Saras Chung | Executive Director, SKIP
Dr. Saras Chung spent 10+ years working with children and adolescents in behavioral health hospitals, schools and youth development organizations. Her research interests include adolescent development for ethnic minority youth, emotion regulation skills in school-based settings, and social emotional learning programs to prevent and reduce internalizing behaviors in young people.
Saras Chung will be joined by SKIP team members Nishesh Chalise, System Dynamics Modeler, and Rachel Matsumoto, Systems Research Fellow.
