Macro United 2025
May 29-31, 2025
St. Louis, Missouri
Registration and abstract submissions are now open for the 2025 Macro United Conference! Social work educators, students, and practitioners at all levels of practice are invited to a collaborative three-day event focused on the future of the profession and the complex existing and emerging social problems we face. New this year, the ISP Teaching Institute is fully integrated into the conference allowing for a more cohesive learning experience, greater collaboration, and increased convenience for attendees to maximize their experience in a single, comprehensive event.
The Future is Macro and Macro is Now!
The conference theme highlights the critical and expanding role of macro social work in shaping societal futures and addressing immediate domestic and global challenges. The conference aims to share knowledge and drive actions that respond to current and future challenges, embodying the belief that addressing large-scale, complex problems cannot wait for the future; the time to act is now.
This year’s conference will emphasize three key tracks:
- Research Track: Explore new directions in macro research, radical ways macro social work can meet today’s needs, and opportunities for collaboration.
- Practice Track: Dive into emerging practices in policy advocacy, community-building efforts, and innovations in responding to contemporary social problems.
- Teaching Track: Discover imaginative teaching methods, novel strategies for assessing competency, and integrating macro social work curriculum and pedagogy.
Macro United 2025 is sponsored by ACOSA, Clark-Fox Policy Institute, Congressional Research Institute for Social Work and Policy, Grand Challenges for Social Work, Influencing Social Policy, #MacroSW, Macro Social Work Student Network, The Network for Social Work Management, Social Justice Initiative, and the Special Commission to Advance Macro Practice in Social Work.
